In today's post, I will write about article "Don't Go Down the Rabbit Hole" by Charlie Warzel from The New York Times. In the article, the author expresses his views on how to fight conspiracy theories and how to get information in the realities of the Internet.
In my opinion, the theories presented by the author are absurd and dangerous. I do not agree that people should give up critical thinking and a analysis of the text, instead following the opinion of the majority or the media, quickly(within a minute!) forming their opinion( this is what SIFT method comes down to in practice). Perhaps such an action would help with conspiracy theories problem to a small extent, but would create many new dangerous threats. Such a method, however, is clearly in the interests of the major media, and that is probably the goal, because the internet has made people less dependent on them than in the case of radio or television.

I'm not quite clear: are you calling the New York Times a "major disinformation medium"?
