In this post, I would like to describe midterm elections and their meaning.
Midterm elections are elections to the congress held in the middle of the time that president holds the office, this time is called term, hence the name. Then the elections of all 435 members of the lower house and 1/3 senators are held. On this occasion, many lower officials are also elected, for example 36 states elect Governors.
Midterms Elections are designed to show whether the public is satisfied with the current government of a rulling party and president. In recent US history, it has very rarely happened that a ruling party strengthened its power during midterms. In the last midterms of 2018, the Republican Party lost 40 seats in the House of Representatives and the majority in it again, but in the Senate it managed to increase ownership by two seats(53).

I wonder if it is at all effective to elect the House of Representatives every two years. Isn't it too often?
